Tour Virginia’s Vineyards

Way to go Virginia Wine!

This is an interesting CNN video on wine making in Virginia, highlighting Virginia Wine Country centered on Charlottesville, VA and the surrounding counties.  I’ve been told by those in the business locally that the reason for this growth has to do with soils, Albemarle red clay, and topography.  Many vineyards exist on the west side of town and were planted in soils already growing fruit (peaches and apples) successfully for hundreds of years.  The elevation and protection provided by the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains makes for ideal conditions. Truly, the most meaningful vineyard experience one might have is to own property at Vineyard Estates and share in the craftsmanship of Patricia Kluge’s wine and sparkling wine experts.  I was involved with Vineyard Estates and the representation of their real estate project (www.vineyardestatesonline.com) for over a year and have to add that their attention to detail and willingness to spare no expense sets the community apart from anything else one might find in Vineyard property in Charlottesville. For more information on Wineries you can start with a list on my website, www.virginiasportingestates.com under the Albemarle County Area information.
